We have just completed the Lutron lighting control system at the Mercure Hotel in Brisbane25/2/2015 The Mercure Hotel in Brisbane is part of the large portfolio of hotels owned by the Accor Group around Australia. WMK and iLab were responsible for the interiors and the lighting design. Opal Lighting and other lighting suppliers were involved in supplying all the light fittings and Lutron was chosen as the new lighting control system for the newly refurbished restaurant on Level 2. Archinterface was asked to design the Lutron system and to commission it, which we finalised last week.
One of the reason why Lutron was chosen was because of the simplicity of the technical solution to integrate standard LED light fittings, linear LED strips and Linear LED RGB luminaires and control the existing MR16 downlights. Two Grafik-Eye QS manage two DALI loops and about 50 DALI drivers, and a slave ESN phase adaptative dimming module with 4 circuits to accommodate the existing MR16 downlight. The internal astronomical clock manages the entire system and rotate the settings into 4 different time events to accommodate the various moods over breakfast, lunch, dinner and late nights at the bar. Settings can be overridden by the staff at any time and the system will revert automatically to its presets at the next time event. The cost of the system was very competitive at less than 10K$.
